Engagement Process for Managing Pressure and Reducing Stress
Below is an outline of what we would suggest is an ideal way of addressing issues around managing pressure in your organisation. However, it is flexible and you could enter at any stage. Also, it can be very beneficial to loop back to the "Assessment" stage at regular intervals or after specific stages to monitor progress and improvements.
| Stage | Actions and interventions |
ASSESSMENT: Identifying current situation, whether at an organisational, functional or individual level. | Consultancy involvement. Use of instruments, Organisational Health Profile, Optimal Health Questionnaire, Balance in Business. Reviews and feedback of results. Agree action plan and steps to take. |
BUILDING RESILIENCE: Providing individuals and groups with tools and capability to handle difficult situations and pressures more positively. Encouraging long-term strategies and preventative measures. | Individual coaching and support, completing “Personal Resilience Profile”, “Building Personal Resilience” workshop. |
HANDLING PRESSURE: Supporting individuals and teams so that they can manage change and pressure differently to maintain performance, energy and prevent stress. | Range of 1 and 2 day workshops to address specific sources of pressure (see diagram on home page), workshops such as “Managing Pressure in Changing Times". Individual coaching. |
STRESS MANAGEMENT: Specific solutions for individuals to address their needs. The aim is to restore their thinking, emotional, physical, personal and social balance to provide short-term solutions and longer term resilience. | Individual assessments, eg “Balance in Business”, coaching and other individual support, introduction to other coping strategies. |
RESTORATION: Plans and interventions to help ensure on-going support within groups to sustain balance and to learn from pressure, stress and change. Also, applicable for working with individuals returning to work after long-term absence for whatever reason. | Specifically designed workshop, individual coaching or a combination of both. |
