Assessments for managing pressure
We can arrange for assessments to be carried out with individuals, groups and whole areas of your organisation, depending on your specific identified need. Although our main tools have some similarities, they are different in detail and depth. This means they can be used for differing applications.
1) The Optimal Health Questionnaire
What it is:
This is a straightforward and easy to complete questionnaire which identifies where specific imbalances are occurring in five core dimensions of your life; Physical, Emotional, Mental, Social and Spiritual. These sit within a fuller model of pressure management, and are the foundation for your stress resilience.
What it does:
- Identifies which dimensions of Optimal Health are not operating effectively
- Provides a clear focus of the areas to address
- Gives the opportunity to create action plans which are achievable and will produce significant improvement
- Helps to develop the foundation for greater stress resilience.
When to use it:
It can be used for individuals who become aware that things appear to be getting too much or that certain areas of life do not seem to be operating in a productive way. If they are going to use coaching or similar support, it provides a good platform to build upon.
We often use this questionnaire within our Managing Pressure programmes because it is a useful tool and can work very effectively when shared with colleagues.

2) BalanceinBusiness™ Profile & Process
What it is
An opportunity for individuals to use a well researched and tested profile supported by rigorous feedback & coaching. The focus is on dealing with the factors that are creating pressures in 5 core areas of a person's life and work; occupational, physical, intellectual, social and personal.
How does it work?
There are five easy steps
- Initial contact to explain the process, address any concerns & agree steps
- Electronic Completion of the BalanceInBusiness™ Profile in 20-30 minutes
- Analysis to explore the information, establish connections and prioritise the issues
- Goal planning to consider options, set targets and plan actions
- Ongoing coaching &reviewing by e-mail, telephone or face-to-face to review progress, explore alternatives, deal with blocks and revise goals
Why use it?
This process will tackle some of the issues that generate high health-related costs for businesses and might be causing individuals problems. This can be achieved by:
- Catching pressure issues before they become chronic
- Providing integrated help so there is less recurrence or worsening of stress conditions
- Creating higher levels of energy and therefore improving motivation and productivity
- Devising ways of maintaining optimal performance when the pressure is on to achieve results
Who will work with you?
All of those giving feedback and coaching are uniquely, both experienced consultants and health/stress practitioners. The same person will deal with an individual throughout the process and all information and discussion is confidential

3) Organisational tools
We have a number of tools and approaches to use where there may be organisational health or organisational culture issues. These are a useful starting point for exploring ways of enabling the organisation to be a "healthy" place to work and can help to deliver results to the bottom line
We have been developing a new tool called “The Organisational Health Profile” and are in the final stages of establishing its validity. If you have a group or area of your business where you think there may be “unhealthy” pressures, please ask the people involved to anonymously complete a profile. We will then send you a summary of the results at no cost.
