Be kind to yourself! Keep expectations of yourself realistic.
Share your goals and aims with friends and family. Encourage them to support and challenge you on these – and to keep you on track.
If you are setting resolutions or goals, write them down and reread them regularly. (Even better, keep them somewhere where you see them frequently.) To increase your chances of success, develop an action plan of small steps and with timescales.
Look at your life and check which elements feel in balance, and which are out of balance. Do something about these!
Take action with things which you are dissatisfied with rather than just moaning!
Remember, your feelings are your own. So, take ownership and responsibility, you choose to be happy or any other feeling. What do you gain by holding on to negative feelings or, even worse, allowing other people to influence how you feel. It is YOUR choice!

Let go of things from your past which do not contribute to your present or future. These can be memories or physical items.
Go through wardrobes and drawers. Decide what you can get rid of, whether to charity shops, recycling sites or just into the bin. It is surprisingly liberating to clear “clutter” and can create a sense of having a fresh start.
Appreciate things more. These could be things around you or things people do.
If you find your inner voice is often a critic, finding fault with you, others or events change the script! After all, you are the writer and the director!
Pay attention to what you can control, what you can influence and let go of things outside of this range.
